You may even head for a diving expedition to the tiny islet of Pserimos, a close-by and popular dive destination. Some interesting sites around Pserimos include ancient underwater amphoras, a location otherwise known as “The Potteries” and “The Gardens”, because the seabed resembles an English garden - hence the name! The wreck of Thor Star is very popular among divers in the region and is located on the south-east side of Pserimos Island. The sea bottom is carpeted with vivid invertebrate marine life in and out of the wreck: damselfish, snappers, jacks, scorpionfish, tuna, sea breams, nudibranchs, sea slugs and if you are lucky, a dolphin or two.
Make sure to visit one of the island’s diving centres for a safe-and-sound diving experience, catering to both beginner and experienced divers. Local underwater gurus who will not only get you to the best scuba diving sites in Kos and its nearby islands, but also sort you out with equipment.
