Positioned on the north side of the long coastline of Kos, about 42 kilometres from Kos town, the picturesque bay of Limnionas is somewhat sheltered and offers a completely different seascape. The beach resembles a sort of cove, featuring a small piece of sand with little seaweed and sun-beds. It is relatively remote and therefore not ever crowded.

Limnionas beach

Some parts of it are too rocky to enter and the beachfront is not wide, which is why it doesn't really rank at the top choices for children, elder people or even long-sandy-shore fanatics. The clear waters are beautiful but do not expect the length and width of nearby Kefalos beaches. Here, remoteness is kind of reflected in the rough sea. However, a visit to the typical Greek seafood tavern will be rewarding.

Did you know?
Even though Limnionas bay is located in an often windy part of Kos, the bay is surrounded by a small harbour, blocking the wind. The beach seems to be divided in some way, creating two different entrances.
