Kefalos

A massive strip of sun-drenched sand is what Kamari in Kefalos consists of. As one of the most popular and easy going beaches of the island, the serene beach of Kamari can be found about 1 kilometre from the main settlement of Kefalos and 40 kilometres from Kos town. The harbour of Kefalos, or Kamari’s harbour, is located towards the end of the bay and Kamari beach covers the whole area before and after the harbour. There is something to be said about the deep-blue and often cold crystalline waters of Kamari!

Kamari beach

Easily accessible and mostly organised, Kamari boasts never ending Aegean views overlooking the picturesque sailing boats dotted around the bay or the typical little fishing boats. Visitors can unwind, swim and sunbathe, or get their adrenaline pumping by trying some of the water sports on offer nearby. Seaview cafes and traditional restaurants are found along the coast to enjoy some local flavours. Access is easy, either by bus making use of the frequent bus routes, or a private vehicle.
