Faros beach is practically an extension of Lambi beach, featuring several boutique hotels and seaside resorts. The sandy beach owes its name to a lighthouse (meaning faros in Greek) found in the area. Not among Kos’ favourite beach destinations when it comes to swimming as it can often be a bit windy and wavy, but the area is definitely worth a visit, a seaside walk or a coastal bike ride.

Faros beach

Easy to reach, about 4km from Kos town, the area offers plenty of secluded spots to simply unwind and soak up some sun while gazing at the nearby island of Pserimos. Most scattered sun loungers here are provided by the boutique hotels, therefore make sure to ask a question before grabbing one. A comeback is strongly advised to watch the sun go down in the afternoon, since Faros is one of the island's most privileged locations sunset-wise!
