A change from the norm is good, even if it’s short! And a day trip to Volcania, which is found on the north side of Kefalos’ coasts about 35 kilometres from Kos town, is definitely considered a change of scenery. The name Volcania comes from the volcanic soil and crater found in this lesser known area of Kefalos.

Volcania beach

A few scattered sun beds, emerald green waters and a small hut surrounded by strong waves, creating an all white veil of beach foam is what the exotic experience in Volcania is all about. The waters here are pretty shallow, making the area a perfect beach destination for kids when the strong winds disappear.
