Easygoing Tigaki is surely a place to take pleasure in Greece's gentle sun and crystal clear Aegean sea.  Located 11 kilometers from Kos town and 7 kilometers north of Asfendiou village, Tigaki is a seaside village offering an exotic landscape with palm trees and long-wide beaches with fine golden sand. Along the beach, on the main road, visitors will be passing through laid-back bars and casual restaurants, while all side streets are dotted with boutique hotels, apart-hotels, guest houses or resorts. Access is easy, using a car, taxi, bus or motorbike through the main district road of Kos or through a backside road which is fairly quiet and flat to cycle, starting from the wide street of Faros (in Lambi area).

Tigaki beach, extending around 10km overall, is somewhere organised - usually near resorts and cafes, and somewhere not, allowing visitors and locals to sun bathe taking advantage of the few tree shades. Winds can be frequent in Tigaki at times, creating yet another great spot for wind or kitesurfing on the island. Plus, a wide selection of water sports and water activities is found on almost all organised beaches in the settlement. Waters in Tigaki can be pretty shallow in some parts, making the area ideal for families and restless youngsters.

Salt lake Alykes is a protected wildlife refuge found in Tigaki, home to a plethora of migratory birds, such as the nice-looking pink flamingos, which rest in the area during the migratory season. Naturally, during summer, the saltwater lagoon is dry due to the lack of rain and high temperatures, therefore birds fly away.
